A difficult but interesting journey – My first web page design

Hi, welcome to the journal of my very first web page design!

Before this year, I was a student of arts with no knowledge of programming. Therefore, the process of creating the first website could be a painful ordeal for me. But in overcoming one bug after another, I also experienced a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. In this way, I created my first webpage by repeatedly googling and watching instructional videos. Now, let’s take a look at my page, it’s right here. And if you find any bugs, please contact me so I can fix them in time.

For the framing of the web page, I chose to present my 5 assignments by nesting 5 sub-pages within the main HTML page. By clicking on the menu bar at the top right, users can easily jump to any of the assignment sites to learn details about them. I likewise took into account those who visit only briefly, and for their viewing experience, I provided a brief introduction to the five assignments at the bottom of the main site. Finally, in order to benchmark my site against formal and established web pages, I also added footers indicating intellectual property rights. Finally, to make the whole website more interactive, I have set buttons on each page to go back to the main page, so that users can easily jump between pages.

For the artistic design of the web page, I considered three perspectives: font, color, and typography. For fonts, I replaced more beautiful fonts for the web page by linking google font fonts to the CSS and HTML documents. In terms of color, I chose two similar images as the background image of the webpage. In order to make the webpage clear, I added a black layer to the images and reduced the transparency, so that the main content of the webpage would be more precise. For the typography, I applied flex typography to make the content neat. Because this is my first time making a website, there must be a lot of shortcomings in it. I will learn more expertise in the future and keep improving this webpage.
