BTA#4| One step forward to “夾泥搬磚小站”
Hi there, it’s Mariana.
Again this week I’m working on my assignment until the last minute. Been kind of struggling to get all works done.
Anyways, this week I finally picked a title for my site. It’s called “夾泥搬磚小站”, “夾泥” sounds like the pronunciation of Johnny’s in Japanese (ジャニーズ)and “搬磚” stands for “搬運專輯”, which corresponds with the main purpose of this site, that is, to help Chinese Jwotas spend money more wisely on buying albums from overseas. What’s funny about the title is that “夾泥” and “搬磚” are shaped similarly to describe work in the construction site. What I am doing with this assignment is just like that!
Back to the issue…
My original problem statement is: How might we make Chinese Johnny’s fans address the problem of choosing ideal shopping site and form shared-shipping groups to achieve the goal of lower cost and more convenience in overseas album shopping?
And what I’m doing with “夾泥搬磚小站” is aimed to provide a possible solution to the problem.
(1) The site offers convenient all-in-one price comparison services to help Jwotas get a quick overview of which platform sells the albums at the most reasonable price;
(2) The site opens up a section exclusively for posts about forming shared-shipping group so that Jwotas can form groups and split the bill more easily with no need to search for partners on various different platforms.
I’m mainly putting the site’s business focus on its premium membership. On the basis of the free shared-shipping services that’s attracting traffic for the site, users may also pay for premium membership to use the price-comparison function and thus obtain a more complete experience in purchase plan-out.
From the feedback of my interviewees and volunteers for the test, they are pretty much interested in the price-comparison section. Because the all-in-one display of the sales information on different shopping sites made they realize that the price gap was actually bigger than they had imagined. A premium fee is not as much as the money they could save with the service.
The one step forward for this week is that I have finished a very “primitive” example of what my site is going to look like. From the usability test conducted I’ve also got to listen to the idea of the potential users of this site. From their comment I have had some insights on what to adjust about the site. I’m also glad to hear from them that my site is pretty much clear and easy to operate and understand.
