My first attempt on a website

Hello to those of you reading this. My name is Chen Taoyu, and this is the first website that I ever made. (LINK is here) This is not an easy work.

I chose to use a character in the Greek myth, Sisyphus, as the main element of the appearance design. In the book The Myth Of Sisyphus by Camus, Sisyphus endeavor ceaselessly but still believe all is well. The spirit of Sisyphus actually inspired me a lot since I was in my undergraduate school, and I think studying is also kind of similar to Sisyphus’s work.

The design of the webpage is originally inspired by a bookmark design that I downloaded a long time ago. I also refer to some design websites, such as coolors.co and flatuicolors.com. To be honest, I spent a lot of time in photoshopping the background image, but it still didn’t meet my expectation, especially in colors. I have to admit that layout designing is becoming my shortcoming and I will try to update this in next a few days.

On the website, I tried to use all I have learned in the class. Basically, I use the CSS grid and flexbox as the skeleton of the webpage. On the top of the webpage is the navigation bar, and the contents was placed at the bottom. The runoob.com help me lot in solving these problems.

I also feel confused about the responsive layout. When I use percentage as the units of the elements, it looks that the elements will not zoom in/out in the same proportion. I use the zoom index to modify the webpage size.

There is still a lot of work awaiting. I need to practice more.
