Building my own website and enriching and perfecting its features can be a long and painful process. From picking web templates and modifying the content to resolving the constant bugs, I experienced numerous crashes. Every time I use a new platform to refine my content, it takes a long time to learn. In this assignment, I worked intensely with bootstrap, from the template to the specific components of the page.
After a lot of struggles, I finally finished building the webpage. The next step was usability testing and further optimization of profitability. Of the five questions in the usability test, I focused three on user registration and membership purchase to investigate the usability of the web page’s most core profitability features.
1. Place an online order for a roll of film.
2. Bookmark a film store and find it in your collection.
3. Register for the latest photograph event.
4. Find the limited-time free-trial membership.
5. Choose to pay to become an annual member.
During the A/B TEST phase, I also tested whether the “free membership” banner on the homepage could increase the number of users visiting the membership purchase page.
Since it will take Google Optimizer 2 weeks to return the A/B test result, I cannot provide the result of A/B test now. But I will make corresponding modifications once I receive the result.
