Summer Island Adventure: My first page made in Hong Kong
This is Xu Zixin. This is the first time I’ve ever built a web page using HTML and CSS, and even the first time I’ve ever written an assignment using code. For me, this is certainly not an easy thing, even some very simple structure, I have to spend a long time to build. But the process is not boring, and I will be proud of my success in doing it. You can visit my page by clicking here.
Before I put it into practice, I had an idea of how the entire page would be structured: it would be an up-and-down structure, with the navigation bar at the top of the page, text in the middle, and a few comment supplements at the bottom. Since this web page will be a collection of my personal homework, I want it to be visually in a style that I like, so I first found some pictures that I like. I soon found that I could use the composition of the background image to help me organize my pages. So I separated out the navigation bar, headings, and paragraphs.
To fit the style of the background, I didn’t separate each block significantly. You can see the page doesn’t have a lot of colors. In the navigation bar, I simply separated the five links with a vertical line to indicate that this was a menu. At present, I have designed a total of two pages, one is the home page, only a typed title and the top navigation bar, which is used to link my various assignments. You can now jump to the content section of “Assignment 1” by clicking on”My First Page “or”Assignment 1” at the top. Similarly, on the second page, namely “Assignment 1”, I also set the same navigation bar, and set a button to return to the home page. At the same time, I also added a hyperlink to this page in the text, so that you can watch my production thoughts and impressions. For each hyperlink, I create some hover effects to improve the interactivity.
The title of my website is Summer Island Adventure, which comes from a game I like, but I think it’s appropriate for this assignment. Making a web site is a big adventure for me, because I can’t guarantee that I will achieve all my ideas before I make it. At the same time, I study this course in Hong Kong, which I think is also very suitable for the characteristics of summer island. HTML and CSS can be a pain and a pleasure to learn because it’s not so difficult, but not everyone can turn ideas into reality with these languages. So I still need to keep practicing, conquer myself in adventure.
