Let’s play together!

According to the first phase of the research, the problem statement is defined as follows: How might we make mainland students who have just come to Hong Kong, including undergraduate, postgraduate, doctor, and exchange students address the problem of finding like-minded partners to go out with to achieve the goal of enriching after-school life and making like-minded friends?

In the current market, there needs to be a platform dedicated to helping users find partners to go out with. We can see that many students in Xiaohongshu and WeChat groups ask if anyone is interested in climbing mountains, exploring stores, going to Disneyland and so on. This is because, firstly, as new students arriving in Hong Kong from the mainland, they have not yet established a stable circle of friends, but they also have a strong sense of novelty about Hong Kong and want to go out and explore. Secondly, posting messages on Xiaohongshu is not very efficient because of the non-specialized nature of the platform and has security issues. Since WeChat is a closed social circle, the information posted on WeChat can be seen by a limited number of people. Therefore, the target persona often gets into trouble and abandons the activity because of no partners. Therefore, the proposed solution will focus on developing a specific platform to find activity partners for mainland students studying in Hong Kong, especially new students, to participate together. They can get information about the recent and popular activities on the website, as well as see what other users are sharing to get inspiration for their activities. They can also go to the website to find out if other partners have the same needs if they want to go hiking or to the amusement park. They can also post their activities and wait for other users to recruit them. After participating in the activity, they can also share experience on the website.
