One-step service for film photography lovers

Nowadays taking pictures with a film camera is trendy and popular among generation Z. The beautiful colour of the film is really attractive. For generative Z who is a digital native, he/she considers taking film photos a fresh experience, only a limited number of photos can be taken in one roll.

However, it is not easy to start a film photography experience. When taking photos with one’s phone, no additional devices is needed. When taking photos with a film camera, a device and a film are needed. Since there are various film camera and types of film in the market, and most of the camera is second-hand, it is difficult for people who has the interest to know how to start with. Especially the final results (final photos) can only show up after the camera selecting, film selecting, photo taking, and film developing process, useful and trustful information helping people to decide which camera to buy and which film roll to go with becomes really important.

It is time-consuming to gather and verify various film-photography-related information among different platforms. After interviews from the previous assignment, the problem statement of the project is: how might we make a university student who enjoys taking film photos to document his life address the problem of searching, verifying, and organising fragmented film information among various platforms so that he can save time and have an easier film-taking experience?

Therefore, the main thrust of the project is to provide one-step services including product information, reviews, purchase, beginner guide, community discussion, and offline activities. Product information and reviews are basic information to show the information richness on the website, it works as the main features to solve the problem people have. And community, beginner guides, and offline activities are designed to attract visitors to register for membership. There are two types of membership on the websites, of which the paid one includes a discount for products and priority in offline activities, it is the main way for monetisation. Apart from the discount, the luxury membership also includes priority in the offline activities register and unlimited access to the beginner guides.
