If you’re K-POP dance lover in HK…

If you’re K-POP dance lover in HK… please contact me (LOL)

As mentioned in last task, there isn’t a platform exclusively for k-pop dance lovers, thus, k-pop dance lovers have to switch between different platforms to acquire information regarding dance. What’s worse, the information is often incomplete, limited and scattered. It’s also hard for dance lovers to communicate and connect with each other.

Thus, my product will focus on improve these defects. 1. provide platform integrating HK k-pop dance studio information and users’ comments. 2. offer dance community for users to share and communicate, generating “users help users” mode to help solve problems users meet in k-pop dance.

2 weeks ago, I claimed enthusiastic k-pop dance lovers are those users my business model aiming for. This kind of users are still those who I am focusing on, however, I also add a tactic in my monetization methods which aims at dance teachers and studios.

For those enthusiastic dance lovers, I designed VIP service, which can be divided into common VIP and paid VIP. To use the community function, one has to become common VIP. This is to encourage users to register. However, there are some restrictions for common users to view the content. If one wants to view more, he or she has to pay to become paid VIP. For paid VIP, I also designed some personalized service. You can view my prototype to see the design in details.

In terms of why I decided to add dance teachers and studios, after reviewing the interview records, and searching on social platforms (ins, Xiaohongshu), I discovered a point I ignored before: there is a overlap between dance teachers and dance lovers, I mean, many dance teachers, or staff in dance studios, they are enthusiastic dance lovers who also has the needs to look for dance studios to dance and practice, also to communicate with others. It’s likely they‘ll be attracted to this website, so why not make some benefits of it? Also, in the interviews I’ve done before, though they claim they may hold a more cautious attitude when deciding whether to pay, if the price is reasonable and there are enough users, they would like to pay, there are still chances. Plus, I searched and found a service marketplace website in which they have a subcategory to help people find kpop dance teachers and it showed 444 approved dance instructors are registered. However, as it’s not a website focusing on dance services, many people may not realize it has this function. What’s more, it’s hard to find this service via its navigation, and the information is also incomplete. Thus, based on these defects, there is still something I can do. For the specific design, you can view in my prototype.
