Narrow my scope with user research

This assignment was like trying to develop a minimum-viable product. User research is useful to unveil the mystery and avoid us to design the product blindly. Initially, I learned that the number of people growing plants at home has increased in the last two years. After I observed my family doing home growing, I thought it was important to plan in advance what was in, and then I wanted to interview people who do home gardening in Guangzhou with my ideas and questions. After interviewing two people who had planted flowers, I was in a quandary; they didn‘t seem to be experiencing problems with plants that were difficult to survive without planning in advance, and the need for pre-planning didn’t seem to exist.
Fortunately, I interviewed agricultural students and experienced people who told me that Guangzhou‘s weather is easy for flowers to grow， and they suggested I to focus on growing vegetables at home because the government was promoting balcony vegetable gardening because existing technology had made a breakthrough enables it to be a new trend and that the most difficult part of balcony gardening was the start-up phase. In addition， Guangzhou was very supportive of this activity and had set up a WeChat subscription. So then I narrowed my scope to interviewing people who were growing table vegetables on their balconies at home in Guangzhou and found that they did encounter the inconvenience of planning the planting stage of searching for information, matching the plants with the required soil fertilizer, etc., the tedious steps of purchasing, finding the fertilizing method and other stages. We finally searched for the target user and made a user experience map for her experience. After developing the user journey map, I came up with this problem definition. Then, I designed a new process to help them find and buy information on the same platform. I designed a simplified version of the database. At the same time, I again encountered difficulties in finding the data. My friends who learned agriculture told me that the WeChat subscription of the Guangzhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences introduces plant varieties and how home gardeners can grow them indoors with certain soil and fertilizer.
However， the data information of them are presented in the form of pictures in scattered articles, it is impossible to crawl the data, so I can only organize it by myself. Considering the huge amount of work, I should prioritize the amount of data that can complete the display of my product concept. Really exhausted, still feel very excited when I think of solving the problem, and I’m looking forward to completing the design afterward!
